What is Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre?
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is a multi-disciplinary arts centre that has six galleries (with changing exhibitions produced and presented by Casula Powerhouse), a 326-seat theatre, artist studios, Clayhouse Ceramics Studio, live-in facilities for artists, internal and external public artworks, collection storage facility, retail areas including café and bar, and green open spaces. Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre runs a multi-disciplinary arts program that includes exhibitions, theatre, live music, dance, workshops, seminars and education programs
Where is it?
The Casula Powerhouse is located at 1 Casula Powerhouse Road, Casula (right next door to Casula Station).
How do I get there?
ROAD DIRECTIONS
To get to the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre from Sydney, take the M5 to Liverpool. Take exit the Moorebank exit (first Liverpool exit), and turn right towards Liverpool. Turn left onto Newbridge Road, left onto Speed Street, then follow the signage to Casula Powerhouse, the Casula Powerhouse is now located at the end of Casula Powerhouse Road.
From Campbelltown take Hume Highway towards Liverpool. Turn right at Terminal Road towards Liverpool, take the first left onto Speed Street, then follow the signage along Shepherd Street to Casula Powerhouse Road.
RAIL DIRECTIONS
Casula Powerhouse next door to Casula Station. First stop after Liverpool (from Sydney) or Glenfield (from Campbelltown).
Is there parking?
There is ample free parking at the Centre including bus parking zones.
Can I get something to eat there?
There is a café serving light meals, snacks and coffee. On theatre nights and major events during the day, the licensed bar will be open.
What are the opening hours?
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre is open seven days a week 10am-5pm. We are closed public holidays.
The Centre is occasionally closed for major events – if this is the case the information will be posted on our website and advertised in local press.
Does it cost anything to visit?
Visiting the Centre is free and most of our exhibitions and events are also free of charge. Theatre shows have ticket prices ranging from $10 - $50 depending on the production. Some events and workshops also have a fee. All prices are advertised on our website and on promotional material.

Who manages Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre?
The Centre is a cultural facility of Liverpool City Council. All staff are Council employees. The Centre has a Board composed of Councillors, community members and key Council staff who advise on operations.
How can I get more involved?
Volunteer Program
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre currently runs a volunteer program, this program will provide members of the public the opportunity to get involved in Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre exhibitions, public programs and events. Our next volunteer briefing is on Saturday 2 June at 6pm, for more information or to register please contact reception.
Become a Friend of the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
The Friends of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre group meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 6.00pm at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. The Friends of CPAC group is for everyone- whether you are a school student passionate about art, a family looking for something interesting to do on the weekend or an individual who just wants to know more. Explore South West Sydney’s growing arts scene.
The Friends are an important stakeholder for the Centre and as such receive exclusive benefits such as invitations to all exhibitions, openings and events and discounts on main stage theatre productions and workshops. It’s a great way to socialise, meet artists and locals and be a part of the Centre’s future.
Donate through the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Trust Fund
The Casula Powerhouse Trust Fund is a tax deductible fund listed on the Register of Cultural Organisations under Subdivision 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 and all donations over $2 will receive a charitable tax receipt.
How can I regularly find out what is on?
Information on what’s on at the Casula Powerhouse is updated on the website weekly. Visit www.casulapowerhouse.com for everything that is coming up.
In the middle of each month the Casula Powerhouse will send out a ‘what’s on’ email that gives you an overview of all projects to be held the following month. To subscribed to this mailing list just visit www.casulapowerhouse.com and click on the ‘Get involved’ link at the top of the page.

What is there for my children to do?
Casula Powerhouse has a studio space designated to children, it is open whenever the gallery is open and is FREE. There is a rotating program of colouring in and activities that correspond with the exhibition as well as a variety of craft materials for your kids to get creative with! We also hold a number of one-off workshops, this coming September we will hold a Father’s Day card making workshop on Saturday 3 from 11am-12.30pm.
The Casula Kids Gallery is dedicated to the work of children and young people, this space provide inspiration for kids (and adults) through creative works by kids for kids. We are often running workshops to develop work for the space or are happy to discuss exhibition opportunities with schools and community groups. We will also be running our Way Out West Festival 11 - 14 July, 2012, so don't miss out!
Are there for facilities for people with disabilities?
The Centre is fully wheelchair accessible, including toilet facilities and a lift to all floors. We have a hearing loop in our theatre. We are happy to accommodate companion animals including providing water. We provide many workshops and tours for people with a disability and have recently started introducing Auslan interpretation to selected theatre productions.
Casula Powerhouse runs bi-monthly art classes for people living with mild to moderate physical and intellectual disabilities. Classes are $5 per participant, carers are free, for more information please visit our website.

Can I hire your venue?
Casula Powerhouse has a number of spaces available for hire for your next conference, meeting, function, or community event.
Spaces available for hire include:
• Performance Space – ideal for workshops, meetings and presentations. Includes audio visual equipment. Seats up to 100 people (lecture style)
• Turbine Hall – ideal for cocktail functions, expos and launches. Can hold up to 300 people comfortably for cocktail functions.
• Theatre – 326 seat professional theatre, ideal for performance, cultural showcases, conferences and dance concerts.
• Studio Spaces – ideal for small, hands-on art/craft workshops or as a small breakout space for conferences/meetings.

Here you can find our venue safety information as well as fill out a form notifying us of what kind of excursion you would like. To self-tour is free, however please note that tours and workshops are charged at a cost of $45–$150 depending on the program. This is based on a class size of approximately 25.
