Spectrum is a new creative learning program specifically
designed for children with Autism aged between 10-14 yrs. Working in small
groups, participants will be guided through a sensory approach to creative
learning based on exhibited art works at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC).
Each fornight the Spectrum program will focus on experiencing and discussing different artworks followed by a practical investigative workshop. Spectrum is design to combine small group learning within program structure that emphasises continuity in respect of location and teachers to reduce potential anxiety amongst participants.
Spectrum will be facilitated 2 experienced art facilitators to maximum group size of 8.
The fortnightly workshop structure 10.30-12pm will consist of:
* 10 min. initial conversation, settle-in time
* 35 min. Art tour/Art focus
* 45 min. Art Activity
* Specific needs requirements will be taken from parents in relation to individual behavioural characteristics.
