Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre presents
Panorama
Are we there yet?
Come and join us as these contemporary Australian artists survey and ponder our place in the world. Where do we go from here when we have consumed all there is to consume, wreaked havoc on our environment and misrepresented our histories?
A panorama was once a static moment fixed in time; but with a contemporary panorama by the time you have turned your head 360 degrees, what you saw in the beginning has changed by the time you get back to it.
The real and imagined spaces in this exhibition don’t pretend to present the whole encompassing picture, but give a snapshot or a sideways glance instead across a landscape of media, culture, politics and the unknown. The familiar becomes transformed and something new arises.
Artists: Daniel Boyd, Nadine Christensen, Sarah Goffman, Fiona Lowry, Bennett Miller, Arlo Mountford, Joan Ross, Caroline Rothwell, Bernie Slater and Jemima Wyman.

Postcard Panorama
A journey is often marked by the postcard that gets sent home and placed on the fridge, a chance to show off or intrigue with a beautiful landscape or place of interest. In Postcard Panorama, children from Liverpool have posted back to the Powerhouse their own postcard “snapshots” of landscapes that delight or intrigue them. From the fridge door, to the Gallery, they will take you on a delightful journey.

Join artists Sarah Goffman, Nadine Christensen and Caroline Rothwell as they discuss their works in the Panorama exhibition. Talks will be followed with light refreshments.
Workshop
Sunday 4 March
10.30pm–12.30pm
Ages: 6–12
Cost: $15
Join sculpture and installation artist, Sarah Goffman, in a found object sculpture workshop for kids. This workshop will engage kids with the artist’s practice, re-purposing used consumer items in ways which attribute new meaning and life to discarded items. Through this fun and practical art making session kids will have the opportunity to think closely about what we use and throw away and imaginative ways to recycle.
*Kid’s are requested to bring one week’s worth of packaging generated by their household to the workshop, this may include bottle caps, toilet rolls, plastic containers, bags, and (thoroughly cleaned) food packaging.
