Milli, Jack & the Dancing Cat
A Monkey Baa Theatre Production
From award winning company Monkey Baa, Winner of
the 2007 Helpmann Award for Best Children’s Presentation
A story about creativity, friendship and following one’s dreams, Milli, Jack & the Dancing Cat is a show made especially for 3 to 8 year olds. Milli, a solitary shoemaker, has a special
gift for fixing and making things. But her talents go unnoticed in her town where people only want ordinary, practical things: so she makes them shoes. Each day is the same until one morning she meets a couple of wandering spirits, Jack and the Dancing Cat.
Jack and Cat are in need of sturdy new boots, but what can they give Milli in exchange? Dance lessons! Together the three go dancing, making the ordinary extraordinary. When Milli makes a new dress for dancing, the townsfolk realise how talented she is. Nothing is ever the same again!
Director John Saunders, Adapted by Eva Di Cesare, Sandra Eldridge & Tim McGarry, Designer Imogen Ross Composer Phillip Scott, Lighting Designer Luiz Pampolha, Sound Designer Jeremy Silver, Choreographer Jack Webster, Cast Tony Harvey, Crystal Hegedis, Vincent Hooper, Trevor Brown.
