WOW (World of Women) Film Festival
The World of Women (WOW) Film Festival is a short film festival that promotes and awards the talents of women directors, producers, writers, editors and cinematographers in the Australian film industry and in Oceania. It is a unique festival that offers emerging and established filmmakers the opportunity to screen short works giving a thematic perspective of “seeing the world through the eyes of women.”
Over two days, you will see the best drama, comedy and documentary shorts selected from over one hundred and thirty seven entries!
Highlights of this touring festival include winners of the audience choice awards including Crocodile Dreaming, a quirky and beautifully shot film staring David Gulpilil, The Uncertainty Principle, a drama with deft touches of comedy and Searching 4 Sandeep, a heart wrenching, yet funny documentary.
One of the filmmakers, Ling Ung who directed "The Raid" is a resident of Western Sydney and studied at UWS.
