Lives in Montage: Beirut
Casula PowerhouseArts Centre presents a cross-cultural and educational screening event over three days in April. The Video Art / Documentary event titled Lives in Montage: Beirut is in partnership with Beirut DC, an independent video / film collective based in Lebanon. The screening event will present a collection of short video and documentary works that highlight the complexity of Arab cultural and political life and experiences. The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for audiences to connect and engage with contemporary Arab stories and experiences, that don’t get shown in conventional Australian cinema.
Artist Ahmad Ghossein, winner for Best Director at the 2004 Beirut International Film Festival for his short film Operation N, will present the works and provide talks in conjunction with the films screenings.
