SF3 – the Smartfone Flick Fest is Australia’s only international smartphone film festival for filmmakers of all ages and levels of experience.

Join Co-Founders Ali Crew and Angela Blake in a smartphone filmmaking workshop. Learn all the tips and tricks of making a film on your phone from: what to shoot, how to film your idea, which accessories to use and how to edit.You will then experience a hands on filmmaking workshop, where you will be guided by an Award Winning professional smartphone filmmaker in making your own smartphone film which you can then submit to SF3 and other international festivals, put up online and share on social media.


WEEK 1 – Screenwiting and Casting
Whether you are wanting to shoot a film or a documentary, we will help you turn an idea into a workable screenplay/script and how to work through the processes of casting, where to look for interviews, how to talk to actors, interview techniques and etiquette. Run by SF3 Co-Founders Angela Blake and Ali Crew.
WEEK 2 - Shooting
This week you will learn all the tips, tricks and techniques to turn you into a professional smartphone filmmaker. This session will include a hands-on workshop and you will get to learn with filming accessories made for smartphones and learn the process of filming.
WEEK 3 - Editing
This week you will learn how to edit your film/documentary, or if you have already done a first draft, then it will be revised and it's your chance to finesse in class. Then you will learn what to do next: how to enter your film into Australian and international film festivals, how and where to put it up online and how to share it on social media.
