Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran pushes the boundaries of figurative sculpture and ceramic conventions. Creator finds the artist channeling Hindu temple iconography, museum displays and colonial public monuments to form a dialogue with museum practices around the framing of Asian faith based objects.
The artist spent many formative years living and working in Western Sydney. Creator marks his first solo exhibition in a Western Sydney art space.

How do we think about power, politics and gender in Western Sydney?
In conjunction with his new exhibition, Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran will be joined by a panel of prominent artist and writers to discuss the themes of power, politics and gender, and their resonances in a Western Sydney context.
Ramesh pushes the boundaries of figurative sculpture and ceramic conventions through his multi-disciplinary art practice. In 2019, the artist will present his first solo exhibition in a Western Sydney art space at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
