FILM: SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE SALESMAN
7 Apr 2017 | 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Book TicketsForced out of their apartment due to dangerous works on a neighbouring building, Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) move into a new flat in the centre of Tehran. An incident there, linked to the previous tenant, dramatically changes the young couple's life together. At the same time, the couple are performing in production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman as Willy and Linda Loman: a strange mirror of their own situation.
Winner of Best Actor and Best Screenplay awards at Cannes, and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, this new powerful drama by Asghar Farhadi (A Separation, Sydney Film Prize 2011; The Past) is a brilliant examination of masculinity in contemporary relationships.
