WORKSHOPS: STUDIO SWITCH | INSIDE OUT WITH DAVID CAPRA
25 Jun 2016 | 10:30am - 12:30pmBook Tickets
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC) has transformed its Switch Gallery into studio spaces to accommodate six artists. The nine-week tenure of Studios Switch will involve intense research, artistic creation as well as professional and community networking. Studios Switch will also provide members of the public access to artists. David Capra describes his work as a negotiation between practices that initiate healing and his socially engaged projects that fuse performance and dance and look to the public to contribute, direct and bring meaning to the work. In July 2015 with Teena, his dachshund, Capra launched Teena's Bathtime, a new work commissioned for the Museum of Contemporary Art's Bella Room, an experiential space designed for people with specific needs.
You’re invited to join David Capra for STUDIOS SWITCH | INSIDE OUT which will invite to you to be inspired by the detailed sculptures of Javier Lara Gomez. David chose one of these works, Amor, as part of his contribution to The Lounge exhibition which partners Studios Switch in the Kids Studio.
