THEATRE: GRAFFITI SCORE
7 May 2016 | 3pm
On the back of the success with interactive children’s show at the 2015 Way Out West Festival for Children, Ensemble Offspring return to Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, this time celebrating the beguiling on-site graffiti, and collaborating with local graffiti artists.
The project not only results in a striking new visual artwork, but also a giant musical score that Ensemble Offspring along with local students, will be invited to turn into sound. Using their footsteps as a beat, musicians follow line, colour and texture as a set of musical instructions. Following one by one in figure-eight patterns around the silos, they create a giant round, an imaginative and free-flowing musical canon.
