Thanks for joining us and welcome to our 'Digital Program' page. During COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, we've had to pivot to a fully online program to keep you entertained - based on advice from NSW Health and mandates from the NSW Government.

With changes to restrictions, we're committed to continuing our digital program and ensuring everyone has access to the arts. We'll continue to update this page with new content as it becomes available.

We've got workshops, art activities for the kids, exhibition walk-through's, 3D Virtual tours, music performances, cooking classes, garden tips and so much more. We aim to keep you entertained during lockdown, after lockdown and everything that comes at us in between.

In these uncertain times, however, we can be sure that the arts are more relevant than ever. Join our mailing list for updates and more.

virtual tour

Visit Casula Powerhouse from wherever you are, thanks to our friends from Google. To get the best experience, we recommend using a desktop/laptop computer.

GINA is an exhibition that brings together works from Gina Sinozich’s artistic career to tell her personal story. See her works up close in this special virtual tour of the exhibition.

You're invited to join the CPAC Youth Book Club, where we'll be exploring stories by people of colour (POC). Every month we will spotlight a book from an author of colour, and meet to discuss it in a safe space. We'll also curate a film, podcast and article to accompany the theme of the book.

We encourage all young people (15-25 y.o.) in Western Sydney to join our book club, and everyone will have the chance to curate their very own theme.

This October, we'll be reading Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race, the critically-acclaimed best-selling book by award-winning journalist and author, Reni Eddo-Lodge. You don't have to read the book to attend; just come with an open mind and a willingness to chat about the themes of the book.

“Thought-provoking (and deeply uncomfortable) … What Eddo-Lodge does is to force her readers to confront their own complicity … Her book is a call to action … What makes the book radical is the way it shifts the burden of ending racism on to white people”
- Sunday Herald

The Lonely Spores Club
is a project about connection and small novelties in the time of Covid-19. It is a participatory happening inspired by Solarpunk principles and is taking place during Mental Health Month in October 2021.

When you join the Lonely Spores Club, you will receive a series of four postcards in the mail, with different instructions on the back of them. The idea is you try something out of the ordinary every week for a month, and see how you feel at the end of it. Once a week you are invited to join a Zoom with the artist, Grace Kingston and Dianne McClaughlin - Casula Powerhouse's resident art therapist and all-round legend. You are also invited to send images of the things you create so Grace can make you a personal digital artwork at the end of the month out of your findings. However, there is absolutely no pressure to follow through on either of these things.

To register for the Lonely Spores Club, visit this link: https://forms.gle/2mW4cfzSsyYW9AuX7

Participation in the Lonely Spores Club is FREE.
The online meetings will take place on the following Fridays in October from 4pm - 5pm:
8 October
15 October
22 October
29 October

In 2021, we have partnered up with the Italian Institute of Culture to bring you A Lieto Fine - Happy Ending, featuring the best of Italian cinema each month. The films are free; but bookings are essential.

Set in the glossy world of professional, millionaire footballers in Italy, The Champion wonderfully pairs the talents of versatile veteran Stefano Accorsi (The Italian Race LIFF16) with an extraordinary Andrea Carpenzano (Boys Cry LIFF18) in this story of friendship, betrayal, and learning who to trust.

Please Note: Our digital licence only allows 200 bookings per film live stream, you only need to book 1 ticket for your household to enjoy the screening.

A romantic comedy with a huge heart and charm to match, promising director Phaim Bhuiyan’s debut is a fresh and spirited portrait of the complications of young love caught between very different beliefs. Based on the director’s own experiences and brimming with witty observations, Bangla is an endearing and relevant story about integration and identity.

LOOKING AT PAINTING features artists that push the boundaries of the canvas. Listen to some of the featured artists describe their creative practices, and tell us some interesting stories about their artworks.

Kerry Toomey is a Gamilaroi woman from Pilliga, NSW. Munduhii (meaning ‘shoes’ in Gamilaraay, her language group) engages in the stories that wrap themselves around the feet, an essential part of each and everyone. In this audio statement, she describes her strong connection to Country and tells us about her artistic practice.

Loss explores the impact of leaving a homeland, by those who have. Listen to the stories of the incredible artists who are featured in this thought-provoking exhibition. Featuring Damon AMB, Miriam Cabello, Blak Douglas, Jagath Dheerasekara and Linda Sok.

Sending you love xx is a two-person exhibition which explores digital intimacy between family and friends. Both artists initiated their projects in the last 12 months, a year of dramatic shifts in how we communicate online. Featuring works by Sab D'Souza and Eye Shen.

Listen to some intimate conversations between the curator, Shivanjani Lal and the artists who are featured in the Bittersweet exhibition. Bittersweet Conversations goes deeper into the processes and stories that inspired the artists to create thought-provoking works that speak to their connection to Fiji and their experiences of living in diaspora.

You can also listen to the artists featured in Bittersweet speak about their artworks and creative practice.

We've got some great local talent to draw from and are lucky to have some hidden talents from our resident youth company CPAC Youth. Check out music clips from some selected musicians below, and for more great music click here. Depending on which stage during COVID-19 we were at some of the performances are recorded from their bedrooms, and some we were lucky enough to have them here at Casula Powerhouse in our Theatre Stage converted to a mini TV studio to record the music clips. Check out the raw and uplifting emotion of these musicians during COVID-19.

Four to the Floor: Exploring the Bla©k roots of contemporary music pays homage to the Bla(c)k pioneers of the music that we know and love today. The title itself is a nod to Philadelphian drummer and founder of the Trammps Earl Young, who created the classic “Four on the Floor” drumbeat commonly used in electronic music. With the conversation guided by Irregular Fit Creative Director, Ayebatonye Abrakasa, Four to the Floor aims to promote collective healing, mutual respect & understanding and celebration of those who have and continue to pave the way through artistic innovation.
