The Casula Powerhouse team endeavours to support local artists. We offer a number of prizes that seek to empower artists to create and submit new work.


Mil-Pra AECG Exhibition

The annual Mil-Pra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) exhibition and art prize celebrates the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in our region and beyond. This year we will proudly be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Mil-Pra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) exhibition and art prize! Exhibition entries are open to all types and sizes of artworks by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists of all ages living in both NSW and the ACT.

We look forward to celebrating the special 30th anniversary of Mil-Pra.


LAS Exhibition

Liverpool Art Society and Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre are proud to present the 24th Annual Liverpool Art Society Exhibition. The annual Liverpool Art Society exhibition, presented at Casula Powerhouse since 1998, promotes and celebrates the creative talent of our local region. The awards are open to artwork submissions that include painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, photography and mixed media from Liverpool Art Society members of all ages.

We are looking forward to the 24th edition of the Liverpool Art Society Exhibition.


Blake Prize

The Blake Prize is one of Australia’s longest-standing and most prestigious prizes which encourages conversation about religion and spirituality through art and poetry. Presented by Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and Liverpool City Council since 2016. The Blake Prize is held every two years.

There are 2 components to The Blake Prize  -  The Art Prize and The Poetry Prize.

The Blake Art Prize attracts entries from artists around the world looking for exposure for their work, the opportunity to be hung in the exhibition and to compete for various prizes including the $35,000 main prize.The 67th Blake Prize is now open at Casula Powerhouse.

Blake Poetry Prize

The Blake Poetry Prize challenges Australian poets of varied styles and religious and spiritual allegiances to explore the wider experience of spirituality, religion, and/or belief in a new work of 100 lines or less.

The Blake Poetry Prize is managed by Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre in partnership with WestWords.
The prize is held every two years.
