Creative Spark is an inclusive art-making program hosted by Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, where our educators facilitate engaging art workshops in local disability centres. It is a six-week program focused on art-making for all abilities, with a capacity of 15 participants. The participants will be guided by our experienced educators throughout the whole process. This program helps participants identify and build upon their existing skills and celebrate their position in the world.

Creative Spark has been developed with the aim to serve the community that has attended the regular access programming whilst building upon the relationship between Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and community organisations. The access program is now in a period of review. We would like to use this time to consider the logistics and restrictions that organisations face in engaging with Casula Powerhouse and how we can overcome these together.

This program has been designed to foster independence, creativity, identity and social cohesion through the process of costume making. This program has been designed to be available for all abilities, the educator provided by Casula Powerhouse will adapt materials and designs for each participant.

Development, Creation and Inhabitation of the superhero persona will be documented, unless otherwise agreed, to be used in the promotional material for Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and the organisation.

The minimum cost for the six-week program is $1320 – this allows for up to ten participants each week. Additional participants will be charged $78 for the six-week program. All materials will be supplied by Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

There is a new theme for the program every term.
