Casula Up Late is a new series of mini festivals hosted at Casula Powerhouse in the evenings throughout April to June 2022. These events showcase ground breaking arts and performance.

Coming up next...

This edition of Casula Up Late coincides with the late afternoon launch of two fabulous exhibitions at CPAC, Ken Done: Paintings You Probably Haven't Seen: Selected Works 2000 – 2020 and Liveable Art: Stories of Done Art and Design exploring the impact of the Done family on Australian art, design and life.

We also launch Zanny Begg's exhibtion 'Same River Twice' tonight.

Zanny Begg, winner of the Blake Established Artist Residency at the 66th Blake Prize (2021), presents a single-channel interactive video that will shift between streams each led by a different person. Each person will present their cultural connection to the Georges River, which runs parallel to CPAC. As the viewer shifts between channels, viewers will experience an evolving flow of connections to place.

Join us for a performance of TRESTLE from internationally renowned physical theatre company Legs on the Wall, plus pop up floor talks by members of the community sharing personal memories about owning a Ken Done design or artwork including bedspreads tea-towels, swimming costumes.

We'll also have Sparkle Is Back DJing for the evening!

Among Sydney's dance party scene, Sparkle Is Back has been known to pack out a dancefloor with as little as a USB stick and a penchant for mischief.

Listing Venga Boys, Beyonce and Tap Dogs as huge creative inspirations, Sparkle Is Back has spent the better part of the last few years carving a unique musical identity, built around playing exactly what the crowd wants to hear, and also transcending the boundaries of pop, RnB, disco and house.

Sparkle Is Back consistently delivers what some have described as a “helluva good time” and “better than expected”.
