KEN DONE PAINTINGS YOU PROBABLY HAVEN’T SEEN

Switch Gallery
4 June - 14 August 2022

Paintings you probably haven’t seen features a selection of paintings executed between 2000 and 2020 largely from the artist’s private collection. As such, many of these works reflect Ken’s personal relationships with those closest to him, for example, the large Judy canvas and the four quirky dog portraits and his immediate surroundings, primarily his home on Sydney’s Chinaman's Beach. All of the paintings reveal Ken’s love of colour and of life.

An afternoon with Ken Done offers rare insight into the extraordinary life and career of Ken Done, one of Australia’s most famous artists.

Join us on 18 June at 4pm for an afternoon conversation with Ken Done, and Casula Powerhouse Director Craig Donarski, accompanied by incredible archival footage covering Ken’s many milestones.

Ken’s work has been described as the most original style to come out of Australia, and his paintings are in collections throughout the world. His career has also seen him produce a hugely popular range of clothing, design, accessories, stationery, and homewares – and in the process re-defining what being a successful artist can look like.

We will reflect on Ken’s career to date, popular culture appearances, Judy and his family business and other fascinating stories that have informed his incredible career. This will be an afternoon to learn more about the colourful life of the artist and his wonderful exhibitions Done Designs and Paintings You Probably Haven’t Seen coming to CPAC from 4 June – 14 August 2022.
