SENSE OF PLACE
From the winding Georges River to bustling Macquarie Street, Liverpool and its landscapes have always been special. Sense of Place shows life in Liverpool through the eyes of local students from Busby West Public School, Liverpool Public School and Unity Grammar High School.
Artworks in Sense of Place are like polaroid snapshots of a time and place: bright and joyful with shades of nostalgia. Students were inspired by the Ken Done exhibition Paintings You Probably Haven’t Seen. You might recognise the affinity that Ken Done’s playful style shares with the artworks made by the students. Like Ken, the students paint vibrant colourful patterns, inventive shirt designs and lively sunlit landscapes.
