TREEHOUSE THEATRE PRESENTS
SURVIVORS

WITNESS THE MAGIC OF TRANSFORMATION THROUGH STORYTELLING OF YOUNG, NEWLY-ARRIVED REFUGEES SELECTED FROM SOUTH WEST SYDNEY HIGH SCHOOLS.

Young refugees now attending Holroyd High School and the Intensive English Centre, will charm and inspire you with their humour, honesty and innocence as they perform pivotal moments from their lives. It’s the magic of authentic voices, calling us to share their stories of horror and joy, of laughter and pain, of wonder and resilience.

Originally from countries such as Iraq and Syria, each cast member is a survivor of the world events we witness daily on the evening news.

Each performs their own story of escape, survival and eventual triumph through a powerful fusion of spoken word, movement, and projected imagery.

The performance will leave audiences not only laughing and smiling, but with a greater understanding of the refugee journey and the amazing contribution these young people are already making to the Australian community.
