GENERATOR ARTISTS HANDBOOKS
Generator: The Artist's Handbook is an artist development program tailor-made for local creatives. The program is designed to guide you through a better understanding of your local arts industry AND to help you develop vital new skills that will open up opportunities to grow your creative professional practice.
This program has been designed by the Casula Powerhouse team as a response to the gaps in skills and knowledge we see in emerging talent. Everything you will learn in this program will enhance your ability to spot and take advantage of professional pathways with Casula Powerhouse and the wider industry.
This professional development program is run over 3 Sundays (the first Sunday of May, June, and July). Each session will include a hands-on practical activity and a discussion led by a local industry-professional. You will walk away from each session having connected with other creatives, you'll know a little bit more about the local arts industry and you will have a new skill that will enhance your own professional opportunities.

How to produce a workshop, facilitate it and get paid
Have you ever wondered how you conceptualize and deliver a workshop at an art gallery?
Public programs are often the way many artists get paid for their artistic talents and Casula Powerhouse is always looking for new talent to deliver workshop. For us, workshops are a valuable way of enhancing the audience’s experiences with the gallery and as a way to develop deeper appreciations of our exhibition projects.
This session will be Aileen Robalino, senior Programmer in the industry. Aileen will draw on her years of workshopping to inspire you and provide helpful pointers. As part of this session, you will draft and produce your own workshop based on your interests and practice. The session will also cover valuable notes on developing a career as an educator.
